A couple weeks ago, I visited Santa Cruz area for a family event and saw some amazing images of sunrise and sunset and sea animals in the beautiful Seascape Beach in Aptos and at Moss Landing near Monterey. The sights were just gorgeous and beyond description. I'll let images do their eloquent speeches.

Shark sighting at Aptos
There were some uncertainty as if that creature was a shark or a dolphin. The surfers, after having seen the images, adamantly claimed that it was indeed a shark.
