In September, I returned to my home city, Shenyang, China to visit my parents and relatives. Though Shenyang is not a tourist attraction, it still boasted some attractive spots, such as the newly developed park - Ziyan (Purple Mist) Lavender Manor Garden (沈阳紫烟薰衣草庄园) in its outskirt. Yes, it was a copycat creation, after the glorious Provence in France, but it was lovely nevertheless.
The gate to the rather modest, though still being actively enlarged, was quite ponderous, though not downright ugly.
Immediately inside the gate, were a field of multiple hued flowers, ranged in colored bands.
Amongst these lovely color ribbons, some red flowers stood out and commanded my attention:
There was a pathway underneath racks covered with vines.
Then we went on a little graveled road which led us to patches of lavender meadow and a huge "sculpture" - Love:
On the way, I saw a dragonfly resting on a branch. Dragonflies were quite lovely creatures.
The lavender flowers were not brilliant, rather quite subdued in the cloudless but overcast day.
The huge "Love" sculpture, though banal, was quite impressive:
Facing the "Love", there were more visual interests - tower, viaduct, pavilion, tractor and a lively pond, equipped with lotus and ducks:
Below are another group of pictures of bands of flowers, "Love" sculpture, lavender fields, and a rather silly large picture frame, erected for people to pose behind it:
Finally, up and close look of those lavender flowers:
